Grandparent Doll Sewing Pattern
My library of doll patterns is growing! I’m so proud of this newest sewing pattern and I hope you love it too.
Introducing the Grandma and Grandpa doll PDF sewing pattern! These sweet dolls were inspired by my own parents, who have always been long distance grandparents and have still been dedicated to building relationships with each of their eight grandchildren. Since many of you may be in the same boat, I thought it would be so sweet if grandmas could make dolls for their grandkids who look like them, so they know their grandparents and with them in spirit, whether they live near or far.
You can purchase the new doll pattern here in my shop, or here on Etsy, if you prefer!
These dolls have felt hair and embroidered faces and are made so that the faces and hairstyles can be mixed and matched. There is room for creativity here, though! It’s my hope that this pattern will simply serve as a base for personalization. Feel free to add different facial features or glasses styles, get creative with the clothing, and add fun accessories.
Of course, the pattern isn’t only for grandparents! It’s just a darn cute pattern for anyone to make, and can be made to resemble anyone you’d like. I even turned this pattern into an Army doll that looks like my husband! Check out how I did it in this post.
There is, as always, a complete video sew-along for this doll pattern! And, as you gather your supplies, be sure and read my tips for finding great skin tone fabrics for doll sewing.
Cheers and Happy Sewing!
Love, Nikki
