Sewing Triangle Pouches in 2 Sizes
If you need a quick little gift to batch sew a bunch of, or if you need some cute little pouches for yourself, look no further than this fast and easy triangular pouch tutorial!
I recently added a PDF printable version of this tutorial to my shop and before I did so, I wanted to make sure the video tutorial was still good enough because it was one of the earliest videos on my YouTube channel. The tutorial is great, but also, my now-19-year-old daughter was in this video helping with this project when she was around 11, so I got all nostalgic, it’s the cutest.
How to sew triangle zipper pouches, a video tutorial:
The video tutorial is all you need to make these pouches! The printable version is simply a more convenient way for you to have and keep the pattern so you can make it over and over again without referring back to the video each time. Plus, it includes pattern pieces, so it saves you that much more work, you’re welcome ;) Grab that printable version here!
Cutting Sizes:
As referenced in the video, here are the sizes you'll need to cut your fabrics for the three different sizes of triangle pouches (Note that I’ve updated this post recently and while the video references 3 sizes, I don’t find them as useful when they’re too large, so I now only make and include here the small and medium sizes.)
Small: 4x7 for bag pieces and 2.5x6 for handle.
Large: 6x11 for bag pieces and 3x7 for handle.
Also as referenced in the video, here is the link to my favorite zippers! They come in packages of various colors and are so much fun. I also more recently bought these fun colorful zippers and love them just as much.

I hope you enjoy making these little pouches! I use mine most when I travel. The tiny one is perfect for my hair ties and bobby pins, and the bigger one is great for my tea bags, vitamins, makeup, and all kinds of things.
I have several other bag and pouch patterns in my shop, and they all have accompanying video tutorials on YouTube, so be sure and check those out of you’re in need of more ideas.
Cheers and Happy Sewing!
