FREE Sewing Pattern Notes Printable!
I made you something! Well, I made me something and then immediately wanted to share it with you. I don’t know about you, but I make changes and alterations to every single pattern I sew. But, unfortunately, I rarely write them down! I think I’ll remember what I did differently, or what I would do differently next time I sew the same pattern, but of course, I don’t.
Sometimes I scribble a note on the pattern envelope, but I wanted to create something cute and functional that I could print out, keep a stack of in my pattern draw, and make notes on as soon as I finished and put away a pattern.
So I did just that — I created a simple printable pattern notes sheet! This sewing pattern notes sheet will print two to a page and is exactly the right size for a commercial sewing pattern like Simplicity or McCalls, but you can of course use it with any of your patterns, no matter how you store them. You can even slide them into your sewing binder to keep notes about those printable tutorials you may have in there too.
On the page, I included a spot to write which pattern it is, what size you used, plus a swatch of fabric, which you can staple or paste on with a glue stick. I find it helpful to know what kind of fabric I used, since it will trigger in my memory which garment I made with the pattern when I reach for it again.
Then, it has plenty of space for noting which changes you made, or what you liked about the pattern and what you didn’t. Lastly, you can include notes about what you’ll do differently next time you make it.
Here’s a short video to show you exactly how I use mine to give you some idea of exactly what this is for!
